Careers

There are scores and dozens of health careers - some of which you might never have known about.  A master list of the requirements, pay, licensing, etc. in Oklahoma is at  www.okhealthcareers.com

Here is a national list, and again, each career is linked to more information.  Keep in mind that this one is a Federal website, and the data is sometimes overly optimistic.  http://www.khake.com/page22.html

National Institute of Arthritis, and Musculoskeletal and Skin Diseases

An easy to search encyclopedia of current information for all levels, patient and provider.  A part of the NIH (National Institute of Health) which is in turn under the DHS.  http://www.niams.nih.gov/Health_Info/

Oklahoma Health Department

A wealth of info - some of it is current, and some of it is beaurocratic but necessary.  Links to county health departments, to demographics, and more.  http://www.ok.gov/health/

Tamara the Mom RN

You might be able to use this info as it is, or it might catalyze a business idea.  She is an Oklahoma RN with a parenting website plus a call-in radio show that is on-line!  Her website is www.momrn.com and the site for the call-in show is http://www.blogtalkradio.com/momrn

How Healthy is your town?

Rankings of every state and county in the nation, based on 33 different factors.  Each factor is linked to a page where it is described in detail.  A great resource for writing reports or even grants.  www.countyhealthrankings.org
